Welcome to the Rautio Aqua Lab website!
Milla Rautio and her research group study freshwater ecosystems, with emphasis on high latitude lakes. They have a special interest in the trophic ecology and biogeochemistry, and how aquatic ecosystems respond to environmental change. Their work includes laboratory and field studies on:
-
Lipids in aquatic food webs
-
Winter limnology
-
Ecology, diversity and production of zoo- and phytoplankton
-
Aquatic biogeochemistry
-
Paleolimnology
-
UV radiation effects on zooplankton
-
Impacts of climate change
